About Director Phil Rasmussen
Phil Rasmussen M.Pharm., M.P.S., Dip. Herb. Med.; M.N.I.M.H.(UK), F.N.Z.A.M.H.
Phil has a comprehensive knowledge of the Natural Health Products industry gained through his 33 year involvement across several areas of the sector, in Aotearoa New Zealand and other countries.
Phil has experience as CEO, Technical and R&D Director, and previously founded a GMP certified manufacturer of both practitioner and consumer herbal medicines sold in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. He is a founding director of the industry body Natural Health Products New Zealand, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy at the University of Auckland.
He is passionate about bioactives and natural products derived from New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna and locally available raw materials, and the sector’s long term economic potential. In recent years he has been actively involved in field trials involving medicinal plant commercial cultivation programmes, aimed at increasing industry sustainability and resilience, and land use diversification in different regions of Aotearoa New Zealand.
